Created in collaboration with Shelby Bateman, a Marine Corps spouse and the 2026 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year, this challenge coin honors military spouses across every branch of the United States Armed Forces.

The front features the American flag and a red rose, symbolizing the love, resilience, and strength military spouses bring to every season of military life. The rose’s red color is a nod to Shelby’s Marine Corps connection, while its feminine touch recognizes the women within our military spouse community.

The reverse features an eagle emblem adapted from the Department of Defense seal, surrounded by the names of the branches of service. This traditional military design was chosen with male military spouses in mind, honoring their experiences and contributions alongside those of female spouses. Together, both sides reflect Shelby’s intention to create a coin with every military spouse in mind.
